MITHILESH PANDEY BHOPAL

Notwithstanding celebrations and welcome on grand scale over arrival of Narmada water in B

hopal, it is still a long wait for the water- starved colonies. The Rs- 339 core project, undertaken to cater to their need will have to wait for at least 2 years for the water.

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation ( BMC) administration made it clear that the water would be supplied from the day the PHE made it available for the distribution.

The corporation claimed that it would able to supply water with the help of existing infrastructure.

Simply put, the colonies which already get water, especially in low- lying areas, will get it first and not areas where no water is supplied.

The process related to pipe- lines circuit networking and construction of tanks, storage is already on but it will take at least two years for completion. Actually the project was of Rs 274 crore, but more fund was needed for forest clearance, CONTD. ON P 15
