Rs 25k fine on CMC and Building officer on contempt of court

Ujjain: Justice SC Sharma of the Bench of Indore High Court slapped a fine of Rs 25, 000 on Commissioner of Ujjain Municipal Corporation and Building Officer Rambabu Sharma for the contempt of court. Petitioner Purshottam Nathani had filed a petition number 279/15 on March 3, 2016. Advocates Umesh Sharma and Abhishek Tugnawat told that Nathani had a kiosk at Sindhi Cloth Market in Chhatri Chowk. It was given on lease to Nathani on February 11, 1988 and building permission was also issued. He was not given permission to build pucca shop. He filed a writ petition before the High Court. The court had earlier ordered to CMC and Building Officer on July 25, 2012, but the order was not followed. Petitioner also filed contempt petition twice. Court ordered petitioner not to have any building permission and slapped a fine on officials.
