Mother, son among victims
Ujjain: Three persons, including two of a family, were killed in two separate accidents in the city on Thursday around 2 pm. A mother and son, aged 47 and 27, respectively, were killed in a road accident at Narwar on Thursday. According to police Abbasi son of Moiz Ali Bohra was taking his mother Duraiya Ali Bohra on motorbike (MP-41-BB-7152) to their relative’s house in Narwar from Dewas.
They were all going to attend a family function held as a part of the familial tradition.The police said Abbasi took a right turn towards the area from the highway and was hit by a Tata Indigo (MP-09-CF-9394) coming towards Dewas. Abbasi and his mother Duraiya were killed on the spot.
The car driver himself sustained injuries and escaped from the spot, the police said. The traffic on the busy highway came to a halt for nearly an hour following the accident as debris followed by accident was spilled on the road which was later removed by the police. Bodies have been sent to Civil Hospital for postmortem. Narwar police have registered a case under Section 304 (A) of the IPC and started the investigation.
In another incident a man was killed and his friend was injured when a speeding tractor their motorcycle here at Aagar Road near RD Gardi Medical College during wee hours of Thursday. The deceased have been identified as Kailash of village Chak-Kamed, 30, the mishap occurred around 1 am when the duo was returning from Ujjain to their house at Chak-Kamed. The bus, which was moving in the opposite direction, collided with the car. Chimanganj Mandi police have registered the case against tractor driver who fled the scene, on complaint of injured Shyam Sharma.
