Rituals performed at Catholic Church to mark Holy Thursday

Ujjain: The rituals of Paska festival were performed at Catholic Church located at Dewas Road here on Thursday under the aegis of Bishop Sebastian Vedekkel. During the rituals performed on the eve of Good Friday, Bishop washed the feet of 12 children and kissed them.

According to PRO Catholic Church Father Anthony Joseph, Bishop in his message said we should be courteous like Jesus Christ and come forward to serve others. Holy Thursday is observed in memory of rituals of washing the feet of the disciples of Jesus Christ before his death.

Recitation of Holy Bible will be done on the occasion of Good Friday between 7 am and 3 pm at Catholic Church. Father George will give a religious speech on this occasion. A procession will be taken out in memory of demise of Jesus Christ at 4.30 pm from Rishi Nagar. The festival of resurgence will be celebrated at Catholic Church on Sunday.
