The state government has finally agreed to give admission to CBSE Std X students, who had appeared for school- based exams, in junior colleges.
The decision comes after weeks of deadlock between the
CBSE and the state. V Radha, secretary in charge of state school education told newspersons that CBSE students will be accepted on the basis of their school- based examination scores itself. However, these students will not be able to apply through the centralised admission process ( CAP). Their admission will be done on the basis of the excess seats left vacant after the CAP is complete. It means that students will not get into the top city colleges regardless of how high they scored.
CBSE students, who gave the board- exam, will be able to apply through CAP and compete with others for admissions to top colleges.
