Ujjain : Mayor Rameshwar Akhand issued special directives for making arrangements of water, cleaning and light in city considering upcoming festivals. Tap water will be supplied regularly for a month between September 24 to October 24 in the city.
Mayor Rameshwar Akhand was chairing a meeting of Engineering Saction of Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) here on Tuesday. He discussed various issues related to public grievances considering upcoming festival season to Commissioner Municipal Corporation (CMC) Avinash Lavania. He directed officials for paying special attention on cleaning, light, road repair, and potable water. Directives were given for making necessary arrangements at city temples on the occasion of Navratri festival. Streetlights should be maintained and temporary light should be managed at temples. A system should be developed to practice cleaning during festive holidays.
Mayor also issued directives to repair roads which have turned dilapidated due to rains. Water supply should be ensured at localities where pipelines have been disconnected. Officials were asked to finish the construction works in progress at Kishanpura community hall, electric crematorium and bridge near Chakratirtha. Mayor wants to dedicate the development works to public on the occasion of Deepawali. Reviewing the construction works in progress at different zones, he sought information about works approved by municipal council. CMC Lavania issued directives to officials for inviting tenders for development works.
Mayor also expressed concern over delay in approval of maps for construction works. He said that delay in approval of maps caused illegal construction in the city. The goods of electricity and health department stored at godown should handed over to respective departments. He also reviewed works being done by park department. Corporator Jagdish Panchal, Kamlesh Bairwa, Ritubala Vyas, Meetu Patel, Abdul Gaffar and others were present.
