Rag picker- turned- entreprenuer to be given Shiv Gaurav award

Friday.

Organised by Shiv Sena legislators Vihang Group of Companies, the fifth edition of the annual award ceremony will be held at Bhayandar . Those who have been selected for the awards include, Dhananjay Datar ( who runs a business in supply of Masala and other materials in India and abroad, Datar has set up a chain of eight super markets in Dubai and India); Dr Sripad Khedekar ( a homeopath who runs clinics in India and Europe); Vijay Khatu, ( World famous idol sculptor); Vrushali Vaidya, who has provided employment to more than 1000 people at her dairy in Panvel, Mahesh Limaye,( renowned cinematographer); Harshal Morade, of International Chocolate brand- Morde Chocolates, Shila Sable, a widow who successfully took over the HLL distribution businesses after the demise of her husband; Famous fashion designer, Nachiket Barve, Milind Kamble, a successful entrepreneur hailing from the Dalit community, Sashikant Hotkar, two times winner alt39alt39 Mumbai Shreealt39alt39 body building championship who against all odds also operates a small scale papad making unit, Sainath Shinde, who collected rags and waste from the tailors and textile mills, converting them to bed sheets, pillow cover and curtains and not last but not the least, Sushila Mokal, a rag- picker who has given employment to more than 3500 women who collect garbage and convert it into fertilizer.

” Our sole intention is to encourage Marathi youths to take up entrepreneurship instead of chasing jobs. Enterprising entrepreneurs from across the state have been selected on the basis of their extra ordinary performance.” Sarnaik said.
