DAVV professors, w ho are also members of the Executive Council, w ould get Rs 1000 allowance for attending the Council meeting, again.
The decision was taken in the last EC meeting. The DAVV office
rs had stopped releasing Rs 1000 allowance to the professors on the EC citing an order of coordination committee – the apex body for higher education in the state.
The coordination committees order was for Rs 1000 allowance to only those EC members, w ho are not government servant.
Taking a cue, the DAVV withheld allowance to professor EC members for last two meetings.
Initially, the professors said that they did not get allowance following some non- clearance issue. But, when they were told that allowance had been denied to them due to coordination committees order, the professors objected to the move in the last EC meeting.
They informed the EC that they were not State Government employees but universitys, so depriving them of the allowance is technically wrong. No sooner, the authorities realized the mistake, they released the allowance and cleared that the professors would continue to get the financial benefit in future also.

He said that there was no need for special meeting on the subject which is already decided upon. ‘The EC meeting held on April 13 had decided for CET for admission in all teaching departments. It appears that the varsity bosses wanted the decision to be changed as it would hit their interests,’he said adding that the meeting should be cancelled and the varsity should focus on arranging for CET. Pagaria is EC member Raj Bhawan has nominated Dean of Faculty of Law, Nirmal Pagaria as new EC member. He has been appointed in the dean category.
Official sources said that he would be member from April 16 to July 10.
