OUR BUREAU New Delhi The Prime Ministers Office ( PMO) has rushed names of three new governors to fill the vacancies in the Raj Bhawans of Rajasthan, Goa and Kerala for the presidential communique before Pratibha Patil proceeds on a 10- d
ay trip to South Africa from Sunday morning.
Some other governors are also to be appointed and transferred, but the Congress core group chaired by Sonia Gandhi decided Friday afternoon to better first fill up the vacancies kept hanging for long and recommended the names to Dr Manmohan Singh.
Sources said the tearing hurry to secure nominations of Sachin Tendulkar, actress Rekha and businesswoman Anu Agha was also to get them signed by the President before she starts out on the African tour.
