A massive procession was taken out on the concluding day of three day Parshuram Jayanti programme here on Thursday under the aegis of Akhil Bharatiya Brahmin Community. Procession began from Chamunda Mata squ
are and concluded at Mahakaleshwar temple.
Parshuram chariot was accompanied with the procession.
Shankaracharya Divyanand Tirtha, Rangnathacharya inaugurated the procession after pujan and prayer of Lord Parshuram.
MLA Shivnarayan Jagirdar, Yogesh Sharma, Ex Mayor Radheshyam Upadhayay, Shubhkaran Sharma, Kedarnarayan Joshi, Kamalashankar Trivedi, Mahesh Pujari, Priti Bhargava, Maya Trivedi and other community members accompanied with procession.
A tableau showing theme of King Sahastra Bahu stealing a cow was accompanied with procession.
Different branches of Brahmin community people took part in the procession.
Akhil Bharatiya Brahmin Community president Surendra Chaturvedi proposed vote of thanks.
Procession was accorded warm welcome by Aman Biradari in Malipura locality.
State president Kailash Soni and deputy secretary Lakshminarayan Upadhayay felicitated senior community people while tying them turbans. Ujjain Municipal Corporation also accorded a touching welcome to procession under the guidance of Shivendra Tiwari, Om Agrawal and others.
Procession in Mahidpur today
A procession will be taken out on Saturday in Mahidpur under the aegis of Sarva Brahmin Yuva Sangathan in the presence of Swami Divyanand. Procession will culminate at Dadawadi Parisar where a religious meeting will be held. According to Sanjay Sharma and Kishore Sharma, community people in huge capacity will join the procession.
