BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has instructed Tourism Development Corporation to conserve and renovate old Vidhan Sabha building ( Minto Hall). The building is 100- year- old. Chauhan also instructed to chalk out a detailed action p
lan for conserving and developing other heritage buildings in the state. At the meeting held in connection with renovation of Minto Hall, Chief Minister instructed to develop it as a convention centre. He said that development and renovation should be undertaken without demolishing any portion of the old building. Park should be developed in the open area of the complex. Venue for organising seminars etc. will become available in the heart of the city after development of the building as a convention centre. The meeting was informed that an SPV ( Special Purpose Vehicle) will be constituted for the conservation work of the building by the State Tourism Development Corporation, which will comprise core team of management. The entire process will be totally transparent.
A decision in this regard will be taken after consulting peoples representatives.
