Demands 80 per cent subsidy in Central schemes To start Narmada water purification scheme
OUR STAFF REPORTER BHOPAL Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan may be claiming having brought Madhya Pradesh into the category of dev
eloped states but former chief minister and UAD minister Babulal Gaur still considers Madhya Pradesh a backward state.
Gaur, in a press conference here on Friday, said that Madhya Pradesh is still a backward state and it should get 80 per cent subsidy in Central schemes. He said Madhya Pradesh is not a progressive state like Maharashtra, Punjab and Gujarat and it was not proper to treat it as such.
UAD minister said city development works are getting affected as the Centre has not released Rs 332.14 crore. He said he has personally requested Union Urban Development Minister Kamalnath in this connection number of times.
He said Narmada water purification scheme in the state is also being launched and in ten years, Narmada water will be made pure.
Gaur said purification of water will be done through urban bodies of towns and cities on the banks of Narmada river. A meeting of 9 chief municipal officers has been held in this connection.
Mixing of Nullah water in Narmada will be checked on a priority basis.
Gaur said alt39 Ashraya Shulkaalt39 will be used to protect the interests of the weaker sections and low income groups. UAD minister Gaur said that 15 per cent plots or houses will be reserved in colonies which are under construction, for the weaker sections of the society. Ashraya Shulkha at the rate of five percent will be taken from the colonies, situated in small colonies.Municipal Corporations and councils, doing exemplary works under Mukhyamantri Swachata Mission will be awarded.Mayor Krishna Gaur said HUDCO, in the recent past, has awarded Municipal Corporation for outstanding contribution in the infrastructure development. Mayor said laser show auditorium and musical fountain are being started for the first time in the state, which will be inaugurated in the month of May. She said keeping rise in population of Bhopal under consideration, it is decided to built foot over bridge for which as many as 30 sites have been earmarked including Misrod, area near C-21 Mall and area near Ashima Mal.Women should cover their heads: Gaur: Babulal Gaur, despite Women Congress protesting against his statement on women, stood firm on his stand on Friday.Gaur said Indian women should stay away from Western culture and maintain dignity as far as wearing clothes is concerned.He said women covering ones head is part of our culture and one should wear decent clothes.
