What? The Government of Maharashtra will conduct a combined Common Entrance Test – MHT- CET- 2012 for all health sciences, engineering and pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2012- 2013. The CET will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012. T

he Director, Medical Education and Research, has been appointed Mumbai as ” The Competent Authority for the MHT- CET- 2012″. The scores ( or rank in the merit list of this CET) used for admission in the following types of institutes: œ Government/ Municipal/ Government Aided Colleges and Unaided Private Colleges ( who have given consent to participate in MHT- CET- 2012) of health sciences degree courses.

œ Government / Government Aided/ University Managed Colleges/ University Departments/ Autonomous Colleges including ICT, Mumbai and Unaided Private Colleges ( who have given consent to participate in MHT- CET- 2012) of engineering and pharmacy degree courses œ BVSc & AH degree course.

The selection process will be carried out by separate authorities, namely, The Director, Medical Education and Research ( DMER), Mumbai for health sciences degree courses and The Director, Technical Education ( DTE), Mumbai for selection to engineering and pharmacy degree courses. The authority for selection to BVSc & AH degree course is The Registrar, Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Science University, Nagpur.

Who? To be eligible to appear for the MHT- CET- 2012, the candidate has to appear for the class 12 or HSC examination, or equivalent, with the other conditions for eligibility as defined in the respective brochure( s). All the three brochures ( health science, engineering and pharmacy) are also available on the websites of DMER ( www. dmer. org) and DTE ( www. dte. org. in).

Aspiring candidates should go through the eligibility criteria as per the respective MHT- CET- 2012 brochures.

How? The syllabus for the MHT- CET is that of class 12. There will be three papers, of 100 marks each.

œ Paper I :- Physics and Chemistry ( 50 marks each) œ Paper II :- Biology ( Botany and Zoology – 50 marks each) œ Paper III :- Mathematics ( 100 Marks) The medium for examination shall be English, Marathi or Urdu for physics, chemistry and biology.

However, the mathematics paper shall be in English only.

When? The CET will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012. A single application form and three brochures ( health science, engineering and pharmacy) will be available from March 19, 2012. The schedule and place of receiving and submission of application form is as follows: Activity from 19/ 03/ 2012 to 31/ 03/ 2012 Sale of application form with information brochures and submission of application form can take place from March 19 to March 31, 2012 at: œ Respective Junior College/ High School œ Divisional Authorities ( For candidates who have appeared/ passed HSC ( class 12) or equivalent examination from outside Maharashtra) For interested students who are outside Maharashtra, necessary information and details are available on the website www. dmer. org.
