Ujjain : Mayor Rameshwar Akhand created high drama at Mahakaleshwar Temple scolding administrative and police officials for not following VIP protocol here on Friday.
Mayor Akhand along with his wife and son arrived at the temple to pay visit to Naagchandreshwar at 2 pm. He was given entry into the temple from Nirmalya Gate located behind Mahakaleshwar Temple. Assistant Administrative Officer Dilip Garud received him as a protocol for people’s representative. Akhand and his family members had to face inconvenience during darshan of the deity. He got irked over senior officials for mismanagement prevailed at the temple. After paying visit to the lord, he came at Mahakal Dharamshala and sat on dharna and called Collector BM Sharma and SP Anurag Kumar.
Mayor Akhand reprimanded both the officials saying them they had not followed VIP protocol. He also expressed anger over Administrator Jayant Joshi and told for lodging an FIR against him. Collector and SP apologized before Akhand for inconvenience caused to him.
This high drama ran for 45 minutes as devotees were put into trouble. When asked by media for his reaction over recent attack over Kawad pilgrims and inconvenience to common devotees, Mayor said that police and administration should improve facilities for devotees.
