Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Activists of the Shiv Sena (UBT) held a ‘Jal Satyagraha’ at Ram Ghat on Wednesday, demanding purification of the Kshipra river and removal of encroachment from government land.

Shiv Sainiks from across the state participated in the protest. Raising slogans, they entered the water, insisting that the Satyagraha will continue until a concrete assurance is received.

Filling bottles with the river water to display, the Sainiks blamed the Madhya Pradesh government and reiterated the demand to remove encroachment from government land and clean the Kshipra.

Sena state chief Sunil Sharma said, “Kshipra purification is our main demand. There is widespread dirt in the river. The CM had ordered the Collectors of all the districts to remove encroachment from government land, but that has not been done at many places in the state, including monasteries, temples, schools, and crematoriums.”

He said the CM is from Ujjain, “therefore, to awaken the government and administration, we are doing Jal Satyagraha in the lap of Mother Kshipra.”

Bajrang Dal activists seek action against TI

Bajrang Dal activists protested in front of the Dewasgate police station on Wednesday, blocking the busiest Dewasgate Chouraha here in protest against what they alleged was the autocratic working style of TI Anila Parashar.

The protesters alleged that some Muslim youths misbehaved with three women at the Mal Godown Road Railway Station. When the women reached the police station with Bajrang Dal workers, the TI allegedly refused to register an FIR.

Bajrang Dal district co-convener Vicky Rathore said the TI commented that Bajrang Dal people come with an agenda; this is their work.  Referring to another incident, Rathore said that two days ago, the police station in charge took action under Section 151 against about 10 people.

Among them were some hotel operators who were going home after closing their business. Bajrang Dal has also demanded immediate change of the TI, warning of action within 48 hours.
