Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Collector Ashish Singh on Sunday, directed officers and staff to follow the orders strictly and check the black marketing and hoarding of fertilizers in Rabi Season.
Rabi crops such as wheat and gram crop are expected to be sown in 3.90 lakh hectares and 70 thousand hectares in the coming days. Both the crops require fertilizer in large quantity. Collector has issued an order under section 144 to ensure the availability of manure and fertilizers to the farmers.
According to the order, the co-operative societies and fertilizer vendors will be required to display the information about the stock and rate of fertilizer every morning and have to mandatory issue bills on purchase of fertilizers to the farmers.
Cooperative societies and private fertilizer vendors will sell fertilizers only through POS machines (point of sale machine). Collector Singh has also given instructions to take action against any violator under the Essential Commodities Act in connection with blackmarketing or hoarding of fertilizers.
