I& B Ministry has rightly banned Dirty Picture

The I& B Ministry deserves kudos for banning the premier of Dirty Picture on SONY TV. All along the IB Ministry has been was very soft in dealing with such matters, but this time it iss

ued a stern warning and allowed it to be screened only after 11 pm.

Now Ekta Kapoor and the distributors have to think twice before screening such film on the small screen. Or was a publicity stunt so that more and more people will see the film in theatres.

Ban on movie is shocking

The I& B Ministry decision ban the telecast of Dirty Picture on Sony TV is shocking. Since many families have already seen the movie in the theater, whats the harm in showing the movie on TV? Bhagwan Thadani

With cuts, the movie wonalt39t lure viewers

The I& B Ministry decision seems illogical and against the freedom of TV and press. The after 11 pm telecast clause is a mockery. Youngsters have access to DVDs, pen drives & what not. They actually store more bolder movies than alt39 Dirty Picturesalt39 on their cell phones. The Govt decision is hardly an deterrent if they want to watch such movies.

Why was the movie passed by the censor boards and why was it given a national award? The movie with 52 cuts & another 52 advertisement breaks would hardly lure viewers to watch it on TV even at peak.

I& B Ministry decision is surprising

It is certainly an indecision. Indeed surprising on the part of the Union Government that nationalaward winning film alt39 Dirty Filmalt39 ( or is it Dirty Truth?) was stopped from being telecast at prime time by a TV channel despite the film having been given U/ A certificate. Still more confusing is that the lead character Vidya Balan was honoured with the National Award by the Government. However it does not mean films with alt39 Aalt39 certification may also be allowed for daytime screening. There should liberal attitude towards award- winning films with U/ A certification.

Kejriwal wonalt39t allow dissent

Arvind Kejriwal is like dictator who will not allow any dissent in the Team Anna. The resignation of lone Muslim member Mufti Shameen Kazmi is pointer to this. Right from the beginning the Team Anna core committee members particularly Arvind Kejriwal are running the show by putting poor Anna Hazare in front for their personal gain The exit of Mufti Shameen Kazami proves that the Team Anna is a communal group.

Kudos to FPJ on fake tariff card

Congratulations to FPJ for warning the public of circulation of fake auto tariff cards in Mumbai.

RTO should have published a fare table in some newspapers and nipped the problem in the bud.

It is a sad state of affairs as even the Traffic Police website does not have the revised auto fare table.

Yet another Mamata threat

Nearly a month after she arm- twisting the Centre into rolling back rail fares, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has issued a 15- day ultimatum to the UPA government on a 3- year moratorium on the huge interest burden of the state. Mamatas frequent threat of direct action is a source of concern. The Centre must call her bluff. The UPA is losing its credibility by pandering to people like Didi. In West Bengal itself intellectuals are up in arms against her dictatorial tendencies.

Leopard takes RTE very seriously!

It seems the leopard has taken the Right- to- Education ( RTE) very seriously when it strayed into the NES Public School, Mulund. It will not be out of place to warn him with what Mark Twain had to say; ” I was reasonably intelligent till education spoiled me”. Anil Bagarka, Mumbai
