MP govts national awards declared Jairam Patel, Kalmandalam
OUR STAFF REPORTER Bhopal Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma has informed that well- known painter Jairam Patel of Gujarat will be conferred with national Kalidas award
for the year 2008- 09 in plastic arts while Guru Kalamandalam Gopi has been selected for the national Kalidas award in classical dance and well- known vocalist Pt Chhanulal Mishra will be given national Kalidas award in classical music.
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Government had announced national awards instituted in different disciplines for the years 2008- 09 and 2009- 10. Though some awards for these years have already been conferred and the remaining awards have now been announced.
Similarly, national Maithilisharan Gupta award for literature will be given to well- known writer of Bhopal Ramesh Chandra Shah. Besides, national Tulsi award for male artists in folk- arts will be conferred on Rangaswami Vedar of Chennai. National Iqbal award constituted for Urdu literature will be given away to Gopichand Narang of New Delhi.
National Devi Ahilya award for folk- arts will be conferred on Kalbelia dancer Gulabo of Rajasthan. Well- known satirist KP Saxena of Lucknow has been CONTD.
