ABVP stages demo at VC office
Ujjain: Students of School of Engineering and Technology (SoET) of Vikram University (VU) are facing lot of inconvenience due to irregularities prevailed. Career of students aspiring for engineering degree is on the stake in lack of proper teaching and learning facilities. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) came in support of students and staged a demonstration before VU Vice-chancellor Prof JL Kaul at his office here on Monday. ABVP leaders handed over a memorandum to VC demanding quick redressal to the irregularities and mismanagement prevailed at the department.
Three years have passed since the foundation of SoET and the state of the department is said to be poor in terms of academics and other facilities. College has been bearing the lack of teaching faculties, laboratories and other basic facilities for last three years. The memorandum submitted to Prof Kaul mentioned several points including delay in examination results, permanent teaching faculties and director, no laboratories facility in all branches to carry out practical, misbehavior with students by departmental faculties and staff, irregularities in ATKT results and scholarships and improper security arrangements at college premises.
VC has assured ABVP leaders to redress all the problems till July 2014. ABVP has warned varsity administration for raising series of protest in case of non action in these issues. ABVP joint secretary Sushil Wadia, Nitin Bijapari, Sunny Parmar, Nikhil Bharadwaj, Shivam Rathore, Manish Dodia, Rajendra Rathore, Anshul Nahar and others were present during the protest.
