Orders software to enable computerised notices

OUR STAFF REPORTER

Indore The Indore Municipal Corporation ( IMC) is planning to curb the alt145 noticebusiness allegedly being run by IMC darogas, building officers an

d building inspectors in different zones of the city.

They reportedly use to serve notices to building owners and contractors to fetch money.

Presently, the IMC officials serve notices in a fixed format to the persons concerned of the under- construction building that they have not obtained prescribed building permission or they are constructing over MoS or backline or on parking space reserved for the building etc. The officials have to just write the name and address of the person concerned on the fixed notice format. As per the rules they also have to keep a copy of the notice in a file at the zonal office and no monitoring is done over it. Using this loophole in the system, some of the officials have started serving these notices to the contractors and building owners just to fetch money from them.

They allegedly have developed this business to a great tune and started earning crores of money illegally.

To curb these malpractices of the IMC darogas, building officers and building inspectors, the incharge of general administration and law committee of IMC Ajay Singh Naruka said that the municipal body was now planning to develop a software through which the notices would be served to the parties concerned.

He said after the software started working, all such notices would be generated by it and could be seen online on the IMC website.

This arrangement would curb such malpractices by IMC officials. The corporation has taken this decision in principle and has ordered to develop the software soon.
