Even after intense investigation, the income tax department failed to find out the source of Rs 91 lakh seized by Betma ( Indore) police from four businessmen in March. In the meantime, Depalpur court has a
sked IT department to confiscate the recovered amount.
Sources said in March, Betma police have caught four persons from a passenger bus and seized Rs 91 lakh from them. These persons have hidden the money inside the special jackets.
After this, police have handed over the money to the I- T department and requested them to find its source.
The case had, in the meanwhile, reached the Depalpur court. However, I- T department, despite an inquiry, could not find out the source of the cash, which is assumed to be the hawala money.
