OUR STAFF REPORTER BHOPAL Public Health Engineering Minister Gaurishankar Bisen has instructed that ambitious Narmada water supply scheme of Bhopal should be completed at the earliest.

e effective initiative for receiving outstanding dues of the scheme worth Rs. 60.28 crore from Bhopal Municipal Corporation.

Over 95 percent work of Rs. 350 crore Narmada water supply scheme has been completed. Secretary Public Health Engineering SK Mishra, Engineer- in- Chief NK Sehra and departmental officers attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that 45 MLD water is being supplied to Bhopal city under the scheme since July 2011.

After consent of Bhopal Municipal Corporation, additional 140 MLD water will also be supplied. The meeting also discussed training to staff for running the scheme.

The meeting was informed that construction of staff quarters for employees associated with the scheme has also been nearly completed. Work of sub and super structures in Kaliasote and Betwa Bridge has been accomplished and pipeline has been laid.

The departmental staff has also been instructed to receive payments against electricity bill to the tune of Rs. 98 lakh and purchase of chemicals used for water treatment work from Bhopal Municipal Corporation.

The meeting also discussed situation of other drinking water schemes of the department as well as hand- pumps.
