BHOPAL Ramnaresh Yadav, who was appointed Governor of Madhya Pradesh in view of caste equations prior to Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, is gradually losing confidence of the Congress leaders. Yadavs soft approach towards the state g

overnment and his not being able to make use of his powers, is leading to building of an atmosphere against him in Delhi. It is assumed that he may have to step down prior to the 2013 Assembly elections in State.

Congress failed to get any mileage in Uttar Pradesh elections after appointing Yadav as Governor. On the contrary, even his son lost Assembly elections.

On the other hand, Yadav has failed to prove himself on any front in the state and it is said that even former chief minister Digvijay Singh, who played key role in his appointment, is not happy with Yadav.

Sources say Congressmen are looking for a person in place of Yadav who could tighten noose around chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and the state government.

Besides on issues related to the Universities, the Governor can grill the government in the meetings of alt145 Adivasi Mantrana Parishadalt39, related to tribal areas, but Yadav has so far failed to do any such thing.

Congress is also not happy with Yadavs role in the episode of termination of the membership of its two MLAs and the subsequent restoration of their membership.

Yadav did not seek any reply from the state government on this issue. Speaker Ishwardas Rohani had even said that the Governor had taken the incident of the MLAs mounting the Speakers seat, seriously.

In the present scenario, the Governor is not putting the government in the dock on any issue while his predecessors namely Rameshwar Thakur and Balram Jakhad used to reprimand the government whenever they wanted.

Digvijay Singh as chief minister, had a tough time working with the then Governor Bhai Mahavir as the latter never used to spare any chance to grill the Congress government.

A senior Congress leader maintains that the Governor of Madhya Pradesh should be like Karnataka Governor Hansraj Bharadwaj and Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal, who could instill some fear in the government.

Sources say Congressmen consider Governor Yadav to be soft on Chauhan which may bring problems for Yadav.
