After the famous kidnapping case of Karnit Shah, the
Mumbai police and the Crime Branch officials have solved another one in which a five- year- old boy was allegedly kidnapped from his chawl in Goregaon East, the police said. One person has been arrested on suspicion.
Omkar Chorgade was kidnapped on Friday afternoon around 1 pm from his house in a chawl, adjacent to Vasundhara building, in Gokuldham area.
According to Omkaralt39s father Santosh Chorgade ( 32), who works for a travel agency, the boy was found in Mathura railway station in Uttar Pradesh with one person by name Khalid. The railway police picked up Khalid on suspicion. As Omkar was speaking fluent Marathi the police smelt rat and detained Khalid.
On questioning Omkar they learnt that he is from Mumbai and subsequently alerted the Mumbai Police.
" I got a phone call from Dindoshi police in Malad West on Saturday. They told me that they have rescued Omkar. But I ascertained it by speaking to him on phone. They will be back on Monday. I did not receive any phone calls asking for money. I do not know who Khalid is and why he kidnapped my child" added Santosh.
