OUR STAFF REPORTER BHOPAL ENT surgeon Dr S Arham has suggested to not to avoid allergens as they create immunity in the body.
Dr Arham said, ” Allergic reactions, w
hich are increasing throughout the world are not due to exposure to allergens and it cannot be prevented in long term by avoidance to exposure to allergens but it can be prevented by prolonged, slow exposure to all allergens like dusts, moulds, fungus, pollens, pets and other allergens”. ” People should allow the exposure to these allergens in a natural way. This is the best way to get rid of allergens and allergy”, Dr Arham said it while interacting with media on Monday.
He was addressing a seminar on World Allergy Week being observed from Monday. Dr Arham said, ” In US, children are protected with double filter ACs.
This kind of life- style creates problems for body when children start playing football or volleyball and come in contact with dusts, pollen grains and other allergens.
It was observed that natural exposure to all sorts of allergens during picnics arranged at agriculture farms throughout the years and children remained free from allergic disorders”. ” In India, people are less prone to allergy in rural areas because they remain exposed to all allergens in natural ways and their bodies develop immunity and it helps life long”, Dr Arham added.
BMHRC director Dr KK Moddar, noted gastroenterologist Dr CC Chaubal, oncologist Dr Atul Samaiya addressed the seminar.
