Post Janmashthmi puja at Kapil Sharmas residence
Every year, Kapil Sharma organises a post Janmashthmi puja with relatives and friends at his residence in Khar West. This year also he had organised chappan bhog and aarti with at his residence. The IXth congress of the International academy for Advances in Ophthalmology was recently concluded in Mumbai under the Chairmanship of Padmashree Prof. Dr. Keiki R. Mehta, the Surgical Chief & Medical Director of the Mehta International Eye Institute in Colaba, Mumbai. The Congress was inaugurated by K. Shankaranarayanan, the Governor of Maharashtra, with Vice Admiral D. K. Joshi, Flag Officer Commanding- in- Chief, Western Naval Command as the chief guest. The Eye Advance congress held biannually has now become the most important ophthalmic conference for learning New and Advanced Techniques and was attended by over 3000 ophthalmic surgeons from all over India and even the neighboring countries. H Advani and cancer survivors come together to spread the word that Cancer is curable On the eve of 65th Indian Independence Day, Padmashri Dr. S H Advani, ( MD, Medical Oncologist) and cancer survivors came together at Shushrut hospital, Mumbai to celebrate alt39 Freedom From Canceralt39 – a theme derived to signify various successes made in the fight against Cancer. The objective was to spread the word that Cancer is curable and one can lead a normal life after surviving cancer. Cancer or the alt39 Big Calt39, as it is fearfully referred to, is no longer considered a death sentence. The number of individuals who have survived cancer has considerably increased over the years. On this occasion Dr Advani also informed about one- stop breast clinic, a mammography van that screens for tumours besides creating awareness. A first step towards making the facility more accessible was the mobile mammography unit introduced in India by Dr. Suresh H Advani. The mobile mammography van moves around in Mumbai and facilitates women to undergo mammography screening.
