OUR STAFF REPORTER BHOPAL Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Gaurav – Gram Panchayat Award- 2012 was conferred on tribal- dominated Tilgara Gram Sabha in Dhar district of the state. The award was received by Sarpanch Jambai Muniya.
The award
carries Rs. 5 lakh and a citation.
Besides, Zila Panchayats of Dhar and Sehore districts and Janpad Panchayats of Harda and Shahpur ( Betul) in Madhya Pradesh were also awarded for outstanding discharge of village development responsibilities.
These awards were given away at a function held at Vigyan Bhavan here on Tuesday.
Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh, Union Minister of State ( Independent charge) for Development of North Eastern Region Paban Singh Ghatowar and Union Minister of State for Panchayat Raj V. Krishnachandra Dev gave away the awards.
Fourteen Gram Panchayats of the state were also awarded at the function.
They include Raibore and Bhatparariya Gram Panchayats of Harda district, Myana, Hinotiya, Ramnagar ( Lodhpura) and Jamra of Guna district, Pagdal and Bankheri of Hoshangabad district, Chhirari of Sagar district, Nadiya of Khargone district, Singhana of Dhar district and Baghwar Gram Panchayat of Narsinghpur district.
Besides, Dhar and Sehore Zila Panchayats were given awards worth Rs. 25 lakh each and Harda and Shahpur ( Betul) Janpad Panchayats Rs. 15 lakh each under Panchayat Empowerment and Accountability Incentive Scheme ( PEAIS) and Rs. 5 lakh each to Gram Panchayats.
