OUR STAFF REPORTER BHOPAL
Holding the state government responsible for causing delay in opening AIIMS in Bhopal, PCC president Kantilal Bhuria said that the BMC is not giving permission for building construction and is demanding Rs
10 crores for the purpose. The central government has provided Rs 800 crores for the project whereas the state government is not ready to give exemption of Rs 10 crores.
Bhuria said that central government decided to construct AIIMS in Bhopal five years ago and the construction was started on 150 acres of land.
But the BMC has not given permission for building construction and demanding Rs 10 crores for the purpose. The Chief Minister had assured to provide help in construction of AIIMS in order to provide good quality medical services to the people.
But the delay in giving permission by BMC proves that the CM is not interested in the project.
He said that MP is the only state on the country which has not given waiver in building construction fee for AIIMS. He said that the issue is pending since 2008 and if the permission is not granted the project will be further delayed by 4- 5 years.
He said when state government spent Rs 150 crores for publicity in save girl child campaign then it should not hesitate in giving a waiver of Rs 10 crores for construction of AIIMS. He demanded the CM to take interest in the project and give building construction permission for AIIMS.
