Ujjain: BJP national general secretary and Madhya Pradesh incharge Ananth Kumar has said that the party would score a hattrick in the State Assembly Elections for its good governance.

“ The State government had been given 18 awards for its achievements in different sectors and not only the UPA government, but the Planning Commission has also praised the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government,” he said.

Addressing a press conference at Press Club, here on Wednesday, Ananth Kumar said that the BJP had given good governance under the regime of able leadership, clean image, open- hearted and humble Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. During his eight- year- old regime, Chauhan had ensured speedy and multilevel development. The State topped the agriculture production ratio, GDP, power generation, etc, he added.

He said that the BJP has not given ticket to any criminal. Responding to questions that the party on one hand dropped the tickets of 43 MLAs, but retained the candidature of those 14 ministers who are under the scanner of Lok Ayukta Police, he said that there is difference in registration of FIR, submission of the charge- sheet in the court and arrest of the accused.

“ No such action has been initiated against any minister and hence they have been given tickets,” he clarified. According to Ananth Kumar, denying tickets to sitting MLAs was part of the election strategy and the tickets were given after making wide consultations and keeping in mind various considerations.

He said the party will release its election manifesto on November 15 and people from all walks of life will appreciate it. Pooh- poohing the Congress’s charge- sheet against the BJP government as an act of confusing the people, he also termed their manifesto as a gimmick.
