Minister’s effigy burnt at Tower Chowk
Ujjain: BJP workers of city and district unit staged a demonstration against Union Home Minister ( UHM) Sushil Kumar Shinde at Tower Chowk on Thursday protesting against his statement on ‘ Hindu terrorism’. They also burnt an effigy of Shinde and demanded immediate removal of Shinde from the Union Cabinet.
Demanding Shinde’s resignation over his remarks, BJP workers said that the minister should apologise to the nation and resign for his post immediately.
The nation is angry with Shinde’s remarks. He has hurt the sentiments of the people, the protesters said.
Addressing the demonstrators, local BJP leaders said the Congress leader’s statement has angered the Hindus and insulted the BJP and other saffron outfits. The home minister recently stated that BJP and RSS were behind Hindu terror attacks.
Shinde holds an important position in the government and such statements will not be accepted by the people of the country, the BJP leaders said. RSS has been pioneering culture and nationalism since decades. History of Hindu culture has no proof of its involvement in terrorism. Hindus always believe in communal harmony and unity of nation, the protesters said.
The sit- in was led by BJP city president Anil Jain Kaluheda and district president Shyam Bansal. Divisional organising secretary Rakesh Dagore, MLAs Shivnarayan Jagirdar, Rodmal Rathore, MP Haj Committee chairman Sanwar Patel and others were also present on the occasion.
