Ujjain: Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee (MTMC) on Friday released amended bhasmaarti schedule and dates of Lord Mahakal’s grand procession known as ‘sawari’.
According to a release, new timings of bhasaarti will come into effect from July 13 and last till August 25. The doors of the Mahakaleshwar Temple will be opened everyday at 3 am instead of 4 am. On Mondays, the doors will be opened at 2.30 am. In all 145 minutes has been allotted for bhasmaarti rituals.
This year, a total of 7 sawaris including Shahi Sawari will be taken out during the month of Sharvan and Bhado. First sawari will be taken out on July 14 at 4 pm, followed by July 21, July 28, August 4, August 11, and August 18. Shahi Sawari will be taken out on August 25. The sawari path will span through areas of Mahakaleshwar Temple, Gudri Bazaar, Kaharwadi, Ramghat, Ramanujkot, Chattri Chowk, Gopal Mandir and Patni Bazar culminating again at temple. Shahi Sawari will pass through Gudri Bazr, Kaharwadi, Ram Ghat, Khati temple, Satynarayan temple, Dhaba Road, Mirja Naim Beg road, Teliwda, Kanthal, Satigate, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal Mandir and Patni Bazaar returning to the temple.
