Ujjain: More than 650 inmates and staff at Bhairvgarh Jail have found themselves dealing with a slithery problem. It started on Tuesday morning when a snake was seen sliding down a barrack cell at the jail premises, others soon followed a half-dozen in all. Cobra snakes had turned a crawl space beneath the jail into a cool den for the summer and began to emerge as weather cooled down. According to jail officials, the situation is under control after local snake expert Harshad Ingle was called on location and all snakes were captured by him, which will be released into forest. The problem persists because of the forest area near the jail campus, and more than 100 snakes have been captured this summer from jail premises, Ingle informed.
