Ujjain : Production of soybean crop has been measured below the average level. Hence, bankers have been directed not to recover dues of loans from the 1137 villages of the district. Loan recovery has been stayed in these villages. Banks will also provide loans to farmers for coming Rabi crop.

These directives were issued by Collector Kavindra Kiyawat during a district level consultation coordination committee of banks at Brahaspathi Bhavan on Friday. Zila Panchayat CEO Ruchika Chauhan, Lead Bank Manager BM Johari and others were present. Collector told that bankers should advise farmers to grow more than one variety of the crops. Intercurrent and mixed farming should be adopted. Soybean crop is sown in 98 percent portion of the district. Farmers face massive financial loss due to natural calamity. It is the social duty of bankers to guide farmers necessarily. Farmers’ counseling should be done in this regard.

Farmers should be told to take horticulture and other crops along with soybean. There should have three varieties for soybean crop to prevent from major loss. Every bank should adopt one smart village and accommodation should be ensured for each and everyone under CM Housing Mission.
