HARMONY OF MUSIC
WHAT: 3rd solo show of paintings by Yadnyesh Shirwadkar at Jehangir Art Gallery. Shirwadkar believes that music and paintings go hand in hand. If we go through the history, music is been constantly representing
artists and artists representing music since time immemorial. And it is this music that comes to the fore as an inspiration for Shirwadkar. In his paintings, each colour and every tone represents every minute musical notation, which then in return summons up to a peaceful melody. Composers and performers, theorists of diverse schools and styles, aestheticians and critics of many different persuasions have all agreed that music has meaning and that this meaning is somehow communicated to both participants and listeners in a very rhythmic way, its the same way in which Yadnyeshs represents his work. His works, which are acrylic on canvas with layers of colours in a transparent manner. Every colour is seen independently, but at the end they sum up to give a different symphony.
