They were reminded of emergency

Th

e supporters of the Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev are quite angry over the alleged manhandling of their Guru by the police at Ramleela ground New Delhi.

They dubbed the police action as the reminiscent of the emergency imposed during the tenure of late Indira Gandhi and claimed that by taking such action, the Congress has dug its own grave.

The persons sitting on hunger strike under the banner of Patanjali Yoga Samiti and Bharat Swabhiman Trust at Neelam Park left no stone unturned in criticising the Congress party. " Whatever happened at the Ramleela ground will be remembered in black words. This incident is equal to Jallianwala Bagh incident. The only difference is Jallianwala incident occurred in British rule and this has happened in Independent India," said one of the supporters, Dr Pushpalata.

A retired sub engineer claimed that when ever sin reaches to its crescendo, great personalities take birth on earth. He was of the view that Congress was going to pay a heavy price for the Ramleela incident.

The people of this country are going to give a befitting reply to the Congress. " The Congress is going to get wiped out as had happened during the time of Indira Gandhi," he claimed.

Protesting the Delhi incident, the supporters of Baba Ramdev took out a vehicle rally till Raj Bhawan and presented a memorandum to the Governor.

They put black badges on their shoulders to express their anger. However, public participation in the hunger strike was thin. A television set with cable connection has been placed at the demonstration venue to keep people abreast with the news related to Baba Ramdev. When they were asked to comment on the letter signed by Baba Ramdev that he would call off the movement, they said that the Baba had signed the letter under pressure.
