Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is currently in Bangkok shooting alt39 Student of The Yearalt39, has fixed the release date of the film, which features newcomers Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra, and Alia Bhatt. The film, which is Karans first directo
rial venture since his 2010 alt39 My Name Is Khanalt39 starring Shah Rukh Khan, is scheduled to release on October 19. The film also marks the first time Karan is working with an allnew cast. Says a source, ” Karan has been shooting in Bangkok for several weeks and hes expected to return in early May.
Hes extremely excited to work with a bunch of newcomers and he says their young and energetic vibe takes him back to his own days as a newcomer.” In fact, Karan, while shooting a basketball sequence for this film, recalled the basketball sequence he had shot for his directorial debut alt39 Kuch Kuch Hota Haialt39. Infact, he even tweeted about this: ” Shooting on a basketball court after 14 years!!! Brings back so many memories…”
