After forcing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to go on the back foot in connection with the establishment of the National Counter Terrorism Centre, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has now opposed the National Commission for Human Resource

for Health ( NCHRH) Bill, 2011.

Recording her ” vehement objection” the NCHRH Bill, which has now been referred to the Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare by the Rajya Sabha, in a Demi Official letter to the Prime Minister, she has said the proposed legislation seeks to undermine the powers of the States. ” The new Bill effectively puts the leadership and decision making process with regard to medical, dental and paramedical education in the hands of about 25 persons, all of whom are nominees of the Central Government ,” she argued.
