Absconding accused arrested by STP sleuths

Ujjain: The STF ( Special Task Force) sleuths arrested two miscreants, who were on the run for about twoand- a- half year in connection with an abductioncum- dacoity case, which happened at Ratlam, here on Tuesday. Reward of Rs 5000 each was also announced on their arrest.

According to STF Ujjain unit in- charge MS Parmar, they got a tip- off that Omprakash alias Hindu Singh son of Narayan Hada and Pappu son of Gorelal Jhala ( both residents of Tonkkala, Dewas) were seen in Dewas Road area. Immediately the STF sleuths rushed there and arrested these accused near the Maruti showroom in the afternoon.

According to STF DSP Ajay Jain, the arrestees were co- accused in the abduction- cum- dacoity case ( 22/ 2011) registered under Sections 394, 365 and 342 of the IPC under Namli police station ( district Ratlam).

According to the police, these two accused along with Rajesh alias Khanna had on the night of January 28, 2011, robbed a truck ( MP 14 HB 0537) and threw the driver and cleaner near Dhamnod and kept the truck in their possession in Indore.

Rajesh alias Khanna was arrested earlier whereas Omprakash alias Hindu Singh and Pappu had been absconding since the incident. The Ratlam SP had announced a reward of Rs 5000 each on their arrest. 8 to 10 cases of loot and theft have been registered against both of these accused in different police stations, DSP added.
