FILM: LIFE KI TOH LAG GAYI CAST: Kay Kay Menon, Ranvir Shorey, Manu Rishi, Pradhuman Singh, Neha Bhasin DIRECTOR: Rakesh Mehta

This film has half- way decent actors but no real plot.

Its about different people pursuing their

own unresolved ambitions who inadvertently come together in a alt145 Kamineyalt39like no- holdsbarred, end- game.

Salman( Kay Kay Menon) a well- to- do architect who owns a palatial bungalow and a merc is the son of a gangster who gets shot down by a rival. So Salman is out to avenge the loss of his parents. ACP Chautala( Manu Rishi) who has been demoted to Mumbai on a punishment posting is in search of four Nigerian drug peddlers who he is supposed to capture within 24 hours of else… Desperate Amol Ganguly( Ranvir Shorey) dumps his job as a sous chef in a London restaurant when he learns of his fiancees betrayal. He is back in Mumbai to win her back but he doesnalt39t expect her about- face. Dolly( Neha Bhasin), a wannabe actress, runaway from Chandigarh wants to make it big in Bollywood. But she loses all her money and thres nothing left but to brazen her way through some high- stakes shenanigans.

Then there is Ajoy Ghosh( Pradhuman Singh), the death obsessed Bengali rockstar, high on drugs, who dishes out stupid advice and behaves in the most juvenile fashion. All these people are conveniently strung through their individual peeves before they all come together at a hotel in central Mumbai where the underworld is all set to congregate.

There is nothing ingenious or exciting about the plotting. In fact the entire proceedings appear poorly orchestrated and entirely clueless. The parallel storytelling only makes the different strands look out of place and the endplay , supposedly destined, appears completely manipulated.

The screenplay appears vacant in many places and this can be observed from perplexing manner in which the narrative is spaced out and the amply evident lacklustre scene construction. All the characters appear wishy- washy, lacking in definition or meat. ACP Chautala is a gold medallist who appears to be a mamas boy and also prone to despondency. Dolly uses her allure to get the manager to waive her room rent, dupes a rich gambler of his winnings , gets duped by a fake NRI producer and then conveniently decides that a celebratory dinner is a must before she heads back to Chandigarh.

Amol, wallowing in self- pity, is all set to kill himself while Ajoy revels in the alt145 highalt39life while encouraging his friend towards selfharm.

Salman says a subtle goodbye to his family before setting out to finish the underworld don who murdered his parents. It is all set- up with substandard development ending in a shabby climax. The performances are also all, quite dull and lifeless. There is no purchase to be had in this lifeless dramedy!
