5 selected for Kalidas Painting, Sculpture Award

Ujjain: Five best entries received for National Kalidas Painting and Sculptor competition- 2013 organised by Vikram University and Kalidas Sanskrit Academy MP Cultural Council were given awards. Academy director Prof Mithilaprasad Tripathi informed that this year’s exhibition was based on the creation of Mahakavi Kalidas ‘ Ritusamharam’. About 152 entries were received through 134 admit cards.

The jury selected 52 paintings and four sculptors for National Kalidas exhibition. Painting titled ‘ Ratibhavam’ by Vijayshankar Naga from Jobner Rajasthan, ‘ Shrangarit’ by Rishikesh Sharma, ‘ Abhisarikayen’ by Sonal Jain from Navi Mumbai and painting titled ‘ Varsha ka Shringar’ by Hina Milesh Patel, Surat were selected. Sculptor art titled ‘ Vilasvatya’ by Rajmaruti Gunge, Jalgaon was selected for prize.

All the artists will be prized by guests on February 10 with cash prize of Rs 25,000, certificate and memento. Pro Rajaram, Bhopal, Samdar Singh Khangarot, Jaipur, Ratilal Kansodaria, Ahmadabad and Prof Radhikaprasad Mishra from Jabalpur were among the jury member.
