OUR STAFF REPORTER BHOPAL As many as 1170 couples will tie nuptial knots at Sironj town in Vidisha district on the occasion of Akshya Tritiya on April 24 under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana.

Thousands of local citizens will also witness this historic marriage ceremony.
Marriages of 1170 couplesalt39 marriage will be solemnised under one canopy on the premises of Government Lal Bahadur Shastri College at Sironj.
In front of a massive stage, 1170 Vivah Vedis will be built where each couple and their relatives will sit.
The venue of the mass marriage will be decorated with attractive Rangoli. A grand tent has been erected for visitors.
One Pradhan Acharya and his 100 assistants will solemnise marriages. . Gifts of daily use worth Rs. 13,500 will be given to each newly wed couple.
The gifts will include utensils, clothes, jewellery, beds, cooker, suitcase, make- up material etc.
During the marriage ceremony procession of bridegrooms will be taken out on about 75 tractortrolleys.
Large- scale arrangements have been made for this historic marriage ceremony, Welcome arches bedecked with flowers and colourful illumination will be erected on the citys roads.
The procession will be welcomed at several places. The members of the marriage procession will reach the venue singing and dancing to the tunes of attractive bands and DJ by vending main routes in the town.
