Bilaspur: The South East Central Railway (SECR), Bilaspur, has introduced telemedicine services to provide medical care to railway employees and their families in remote areas.

Through the system, patients in small health units can consult specialist doctors based in Bilaspur, Raipur, Nagpur, and other medical centres using Google Meet or WhatsApp calls. The consultation process is supported by patient records from the Health Management Information System (HMIS).

The initiative makes it easier for patients to access specialized medical care without the need to travel to major hospitals. In case of emergencies, immediate guidance from experts can be provided, ensuring timely treatment.

The telemedicine services cover various medical fields, including general medicine, eye care, cardiology, orthopedics, gynecology, and surgery. Railway employees and their families can contact their nearest health unit for more details on availing these services.
