'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' producer Asit Kumarr Modi has finally reacted to Shailesh Lodha's exit from the show.
According to a video doing the rounds on social media, Asit Modi said he wants to keep everyone in the team together. He also stated that if someone wants to leave because they feel they are done with the show and explore more opportunities, and not limit their talent, he will urge them to give it another thought.
He added that the show won't stop even if they quit.
"Jaise maine pehle bhi kaha hai, main sabko sath me jod ke rakhna chahta hu. Lekin agar koi log aana hi nahi chahte, unka peth bhar gaya ho, unko lagta ho humne bohot kuch kar liya, aur kuch karna chahiye, humko sirf Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah tak seemit nahi rehna, wo nahi samajhna chahte, main fir bhi unko kehta hu ki sochiye samajhiye. Lekin agar nahi aayenge toh show rukega nahi," he said.
"Naye Taarak Mehta jaroor aa jaayenge. Purane Taarak Mehta aayenge toh bhi khushi hogi. Naye aayenge toh bhi khushi hogi," he added.
In May 2022, it was reported that Shailesh Lodha, who plays the role of Taarak, has bid goodbye to the sitcom.
Shailesh has not been shooting for the show since April and he has no plans to return to the show. Reportedly, he is not very happy with his contract and he feels that his dates are not properly used in the show. One of the other reasons behind taking this decision is that with 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', the actor is not able to explore other opportunities due to the exclusivity factor.
Over the last couple of years, actors like Neha Mehta and Gurucharan Singh have quit the show. They were replaced by Sunayana Fozdar and Balwinder Singh Sodhi, respectively.
The popular sitcom has been on air for over a decade. Starring Dilip Joshi, Shailesh Lodha, Sunayana Fozdar, Munmun Dutta, Mandar Chandwadkar, Amit Bhatt, and Sonalika Joshi among others, it is one of the longest-running episodic shows.
The story revolves around the lives of a family living in the Gokuldham Society, where they co-exist with families of different backgrounds and cultures.
