2014 was the year of some amazing tech revolutions. Smart Glass, Smart Wearables, a bigger & better iPhone, and many more such introductions were made during the course of the year. It proved an unfortunate year for Samsung, witnessing a huge drop of sales and ranking. Let’s go through what 2015 has in store for us.

1. Apple’s 12-inch iPad

Apple iPad Pro, iPad air plus, iPad 6 plus or something similar. We aren’t sure about the name but we are sure that there’s something legendary coming from Apple’s warehouse. A 12-inch-plus tablet is on it’s way to compete with highly appreciated Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3. The yet-to-be-named iPad will sport a Retina HD display with 4K resolution and 230 pixels per inch. The rumors also suggests that this device will be boosted by the most powerful A9X+ processor. It is also said that this upcoming iPad will be thinner than iPad Air 3. A tipster has also informed us that iPad Pro will consist of a stylus, which has never ever happened with an Apple device. It’ll directly be produced by Apple targeting the graphic designers and writers.

2. Samsung Galaxy S6

The next big thing to get revealed in CES is Samsung’s best smartphone yet, Galaxy S6. Bidding a goodbye to plastic outfits, Samsung is all set to welcome the new year with metallic design. We also noticed a fresh hexagonal-shaped speaker in the concept image. According to the reported specs, this super phone will be boosted by 3 GB of RAM running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Processor. Alike Note 4 and Note Edge, S6 will also be brightened by the SUPER AMOLED QUAD HD display to provide a scintillating user experience. The device will run on Android Lollipop.

3. Apple’s Watch

Previous year when Mr.CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, launched the biggest and best iPhone variants, he flaunted a teaser of their upcoming smartwatch. Known as iWatch for many, Apple’s Watch will be available any time by March. To save the battery from draining, it’ll use the technique of ‘Taptics’ to alert the users. The watch will vibrate on the arrival of a new notification.

4. Google’s Project Ara

Google’s most awaited project, Project Ara, is about to make debut in the first quarter of 2015. The primary goal of this project is to maximize the reach of smartphones to the public. The most innovative thing about Ara is you can modify your device as many times you want. This modular device will be designed as per your specifications and you can change it later as you want. Let’s suppose you don’t like the 8MP of camera of your device, you can swap it with a better 13MP of it. The price range of these devices will start from a mere Rs. 2500 (US $50) and be in the range as per your provided specifications. Lately China’s Puzzlephone also came up with a similar concept. Google will launch it’s Project Ara by end of the first quarter this year.

5. Oculus Rift

2015 will be the year when we’ll witness a revolution in the gaming industry. This year, Oculus is finally marking the debut of it’s most awaited innovation ‘Rift’. With this head mounted display we’ll be able to observe the virtual reality. This gadget will allow us to enjoy our favorite games in a stereoscopic 3D view. It’ll stretch the virtual world beyond our peripheral vision. Now games will not be only limited to the box of screen, Rift will help us to be the part of the virtual world. Oculus has also tied up with Samsung for manufacturing a head mounted gear, to pair up with smartphones.

6. Xiaomi Mi5

According to many leaks out there, we could see a flagship killer from Xiaomi. Sporting a 5.7 inch 2K display, Xiaomi Mi5 is touted as an arch rival of flagship phones such as iPhone 6 and LG G3.

If reports are to be believed, the device will bundle up the strongest 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset octa-core processor with 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 430 graphics. It would have a clear than a crystal rear camera of 20.7 MP supported by Sony Exmor RS censor.

Taking the flagship to the next level, HTC is about to unwrap One M9 at Consumers Electronic Show (CES) to be held this Tuesday in Las Vegas. Improvising the cameras to 20.7 MP rear and 13 MP front, this one will attract the photographers. The powerhouse of specifications adds up a 64-Bit Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processors with 3 GB RAM. The device will come with Android Lollipop 5.1 out of the box.

9. Micromax Yureka

Micromax along with Xolo, Motorola and now Asus have captured the mid-ranged bracket of smartphones. Providing the features of a high end smartphone at the price half of it, is what Micromax masters in. Yureka will mark the beginning of the Yu series for Micromax. Designated towards youth, this device will don an all cool Cyanogenmod which is currently used by One Plus One.

10. Kodak Smartphone

Cobbled up from the bankruptcy, Kodak has pulled their socks up to mark a fresh start. Without revealing any specifications, Kodak has announced it will be revealing a whole new line of smartphones and tablets at the CES 2015. It would be hard for them to stand still amidst such tough competition out there. Kodak obviously will concentrate more on photography and imaging.
