Realme 15 Pro 5G and Realme 15 5G smartphones have launched in India. The two phones are identical in design, have the same build, but differ in internal specifications. The Pro model comes with better cameras, a Snapdragon processor, and a larger battery. At its India event, the company also launched the Realme Buds T200 TWS earbuds as well.
We spent a few days with both the Realme 15 Pro 5G and the Realme 15 5G, and here’s my initial impression about the two phones.
Realme 15 Pro 5G, Realme 15 5G design
As mentioned, the Realme 15 Pro 5G and Realme 15 5G are identical in design. The phones have a metal frame, a leather-textured back panel and punch-hole display with curved edges. The phone has a good grip, isn’t slippery, and feels sturdy. The button placement is quite intuitive with the volume and power rockers sitting on the right edge, sensors sitting on the top edge, and the SIM Slot, speaker grille, and USB Type-C port sit at the bottom edge. The camera sensors jut out of the back panel but is protected by a metal ring design. The phones look and feel premium and come with a great design language for the price tag.

Both the phones have a 6.8-inch 4D Curve+ AMOLED display with up to 1800 nits brightness, 144Hz refresh rate, 94 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The bezels are extremely minimal and the viewing angles are great. In our short time with the devices, we found the touch experience to be smooth and lag-free.
Realme 15 Pro 5G, Realme 15 5G software
Both the phones run on Realme 6.0 based on Android 15. The control centre and the notification panel swipe down from the right and left edges respectively. The proprietary App Market is still there but there’s very little bloatware, which can be deleted. The App Drawer and navigation have satisfying and intuitive haptic feedback, which elevate the overall experience of the smartphones. We reserve our full review of the software for the full review.

The Realme 15 Pro 5G comes with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage options. In comparison, the Realme 15 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300+ processor paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage option. In our initial usage, we noticed no lags or glitches on the two devices, but to know how the phones stand up under pressure, wait for our full review.

Realme 15 Pro 5G, Realme 15 5G camera
The Realme 15 Pro 5G has two 50-megapixel rear cameras at the back and a 50-megapixel front sensor. All the sensors support 4K @60fps. The Realme 15 5G has a 50-megapixel main rear sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Up front, the Realme 15 has a 50-megapixel selfie camera as well. The Realme 15 supports 4K@30fps. The camera app has the AI Edit Genie which works with a network connection, and the AI Editor which helps edit photos intelligently. The camera app has an AI Party mode that helps taking more vivid photos. Again, the camera will be tested thoroughly in our full review.

The Realme 15 Pro 5G and Realme 15 5G, both have a 7,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging support. The phones battery and charging tests will give us a fair idea on how long the phone can stay awake, and results of these tests will be posted in our review.

The two phones come with IP69 certification, Bluetooth v5.4, and Wi-Fi 6. Both do not support NFC.

Pre-bookings for the phones have already begun on Flipkart, Realme online store, Realme app, and partnered stores. The Realme 15 Pro 5G is priced in India at Rs. 28,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option, Rs. 30,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option, Rs. 32,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and Rs. 35,999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage option. Launch offers include Rs. 3,000 instant bank discount. Realme says that these prices are inclusive of the bank offers.
Coming to the Realme 15 5G, the phone is priced at Rs. 23,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, Rs. 25,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option, and Rs. 28,999 for the 12GB RAM _ 256GB storage option. Launch offers include Rs. 2,000 instant bank disocunt. Realme says that these prices are inclusive of the bank offers.
Conclusion
The Realme 15 Pro 5G and Realme 15 5G come with solid specifications and great design. The big highlight is the 7,000mAh battery and the 50-megapixel selfie camera. The Realme 15 5G series will compete with the Oppo Reno 14 series and the OnePlus Nord 5 range in India.
