What if one could make water out of air? Sounds magical right? Well, this is what AKVO is bringing for you. With AKVO's technical solutions, the company is extracting water from air.
Akvo is revolutionizing the sustainable tech industry by redefining water access, enhancing data-informed decision-making, and enhancing transparency in international water management. In conversation with Free Press Journal, Navkaran Singh Bagga, CEO & Founder, AKVO, on how Akvo is changing the 'sustainable tech’ sector with its sustainable water solutions.
How Akvo is changing the 'sustainable tech’ sector?
Our technology is changing how governments and organizations deal with water resources, making it more efficient, sustainable, and resilient in the event of climate change.
Akvo's contribution to the industry involves:
1. Data-Driven Water Management – Akvo's IoT-powered systems enable real-time tracking of water production, quality, and consumption, with a guarantee of efficiently managing water resources.
2. Sustainable Water Solutions – Through water harvesting from the air, Akvo offers a decentralized and renewable source of water, cutting reliance on conventional infrastructure and overcoming water scarcity problems.
3. Climate Resilience – Our solutions offer communities with access to water in a consistent manner even in drought or disaster zones, enhancing drought, flood, and changing weather patterns resilience.
4. Cross-Sector Collaboration – We collaborate with governments, NGOs, and companies to roll out sustainable water solutions across sectors, ranging from hospitality to manufacturing and public infrastructure.
'Air to Water,' What made you execute this new concept?
The decision to pursue “Air to Water” technology was a strategic business move rather than a sudden realization. AWGs (Atmospheric Water Generators) interested me in that they proposed a whole new source of water, unassociated with groundwater or pipelines. Drawing water from the air sustainably fit the accelerating worldwide demand for decentralized, climate-resistant water technology.
Can you brief a little about how your products work?
Akvo’s Atmospheric Water Generators (AWGs) are designed to provide sustainable, decentralized water solutions using advanced technology. The core process involves:
1. Air Intake & Filtration – Ambient air is drawn in and filtered to remove dust and contaminants.
2. Condensation Process – The air is cooled to its dew point, causing water vapor to condense into liquid form.
3. Purification – The collected water undergoes a multi-stage filtration and UV sterilization process, ensuring it meets the highest drinking water standards.
4. Storage & Dispensing – The purified water is stored in food-grade tanks and dispensed as needed.

Decoding the 'Un-tether yourself from water lines' concept?
Un-tethering can make people and organizations more resilient, especially in remote or resource-scarce areas, ensuring a sustainable and localized water supply, especially during emergencies or in places where traditional infrastructure is lacking.
What are your new product lineup?
Akvo is constantly evolving to increase its product range and make sustainable water solutions more accessible. Some of the future developments are:
1. Solar-Powered AWGs – Combining solar panels and AWGs to provide a complete off-grid, clean water solution, especially for rural and disaster-affected areas.
2. Modular Large-Scale AWG Systems – Scalable systems for producing tens of thousands of liters per day for industries, military camps, and large-scale infrastructure projects.
3. Intelligent Water Monitoring & IoT Integration – Advanced digital dashboards offering real-time analytics of water production, usage, and quality, enabling businesses to optimize their water management.
4. Household & Small-Scale AWGs – Portable units for the home, small business, and residential neighborhoods, bringing water independence into the hands of mainstream consumers.
