Team India skipper Rohit Sharma strongly backed Virat Kohli to come good in the Boxing Day Test against Australia as the latter remains on a tight rope. In a video surfaced on social media, Rohit told the reporter that 'modern-day greats' like Kohli will figure their ways out as questions about his mindset arose.
Although the 36-year-old bounced back by scoring a hundred in the second innings in Perth after a failure in the first, his scores have been 7, 11 and 3 ever since. Despite the former Indian captain possessing a promising record at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the third Test appears to be make or break for Kohli's career in red-ball cricket.

Rohit, meanwhile, kept his cards closed about his batting position in the Boxing Day Test, having not found success by batting at number six. He stated, as quoted by Perth Now:
"Let's not worry about that. I think who bats where is something that we need to figure out within ourselves. It's not a thing I should be discussing at every press conference, where I'll be batting. Whatever it takes for our team to look good or gives us the best chance to succeed, we'll try and do that."
Team India have emerged victorious in the last two Boxing Day Tests.
