Former England captain Michael Vaughan has vowed to get a haircut with Dindayal at Omniston Road in Mumbai this time around as he heads to the financial capital of India ahead of IPL 2025. The 2005 Ashes-winning skipper also predicted the winner of this year's tournament, highest run-scorer and the wicket-taker.

Vaughan went on to claim that Mumbai Indians as the winner this year, while Varun Chakaravarthy and Shubman Gill to win the purple and orange cap, respectively. Mumbai Indians, who have notably won the competition five times, ended last year at the bottom of the points table. Chakaravarthy, meanwhile, comes into the tournament on the back of a memorable Champions Trophy 2025 campaign. Gill also had a decent Champions Trophy campaign, headlined by a century against Bangladesh.

Taking to X, Vaughan wrote:

"My IPL predictions … @mipaltan to win @ShubmanGill top scorer Varun Chakravarthy most wickets I will get a hair cut with Dindayal on Orminston Road."

RCB and KKR to kick off the 18th season of the lucrative T20 league

Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will get the 18th season of the tournament underway on Saturday at the Eden Gardens.

Meanwhile, the Knight Riders are ahead in head-to-head battle as they have won 20 matches out of 34 contested between the two sides thus far since 2008.

They had memorably locked horns in the 2008 edition when Brendon McCullum's 73-ball 158* lifted Kolkata to 222 and they eventually won by 140 runs. RCB are also hunting their first title, having fallen short thrice in the final.

The Knight Riders had also beaten the Royal Challengers on both occasions in IPL 2024. However, they both have new captains for IPL 2025, with Ajinkya Rahane leading the three-time champions and Rajat Patidar skippering Bengaluru.
