At just 15, Aryaveer Kohli is stepping away from schoolbooks and stepping onto the cricket pitch with a dream of his own. The nephew of Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli, the youngster is quietly carving his own path in the sport without the weight of his famous surname.
Spotted recently at a practice session, the young cricketer showed focus and determination beyond his years. But unlike his uncle, known for his aggressive batting, Aryaveer has his sights set on mastering the art of leg-spin.
Who Is Aryaveer Kohli?
Aryaveer, a budding legspinner, is the son of Virat’s elder brother Vikas. The kid will feature in the second season of the Delhi Premier League – a state level T20 competition that got underway last year and it’s a platform where the likes of Digvesh Rathi (Lucknow Super Giants) and Priyansh Arya (Punjab Kings) first came into prominence before landing IPL contracts.
Aryaveer was bought by South Delhi Superstarz at the recent DPL auction, and he will be teammates with Digvesh who is one of the league’s highest paid cricketers at Rs 38 lakh.
