Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has been impressed by Rohit Sharma's captaincy achievements, especially in the ICC events, with the Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand looming. With the Men in Blue playing their fourth consecutive ICC final since Rohit became skipper, Kaif stated that nothing will impact his legacy.
The right-handed batter has achieved a rare feat of taking Team India to the final of every ICC tournament, ranging from the World Test Championship (WTC) decider to the Champions Trophy 2025 final. Although the Men in Blue lost the WTC and the 50-over World Cup final, the Asian Giants won the T20 World Cup last year in the West Indies. With Rohit being on the wrong side of the 30s, he will want to retire with another ICC trophy under his belt.
Taking to X, Kaif wrote:
"It's been just 4 years since Rohit Sharma got the captaincy but look his achievements. Only skipper to take his team to all ICC event finals. Whatever happens today, it wouldn't impact his leadership legacy. True leader and a legend."
